Q. What is CCFL stands for?
Q. What is CCFL? A. CCFL is a very mature lighting technology mainly used by the LCD industry to manufacture its back light for the LCD display unit. It was not used for general lighting until TBT successfully developed its high power CCFL technology. The following chart compares the CCFL to the current CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lamp that is based on Hot Cathode Fluorescent Technology)
Q. Why CCFL has longer lifetime than CFL?
Q. What can a CCFL do? A. The current CCFL products in the market comes in 3W~5W and mostly being used as the outdoor building contour lighting because of its flashing, long lifetime and energy saving capabilities. TBT will release to market a series of NEW CCFL products ranging from 3W~>60W, which can be used in most lighting applications currently using incandescent and CFL, such as down lamp, table lamp, ceiling lamp, reflector lamp, etc.. These CCFLs will all have >25,000 hour lifetime, flashing capability, dimmable and some of them will have the adjustable color temperature feature. These CCFLs also come with different shapes. To mention a few, there are lamps with shapes like bullet, cylinder, semi-circle as point source for general purpose lighting; There will be straight line shape lamp, similar to the 600mm long T5 lamp; There will be a futuristic flat light source, which can be of various shapes under a low profile of <20 mm thickness.
A . Some of TBT's CCFL lamps can adjust it color temperatures, and generate various color temperatures to your own liking. It can be adjusted smoothly from 3000K warm white, to 5000K cool white and 6400K cold white. Q. What do you mean by generating multiple colors within the single light bulb? A . TBT will introduce a special lighting source capable of generating millions of colors like a display pixel. This light source will come in as a standard lighting unit in flat format. It can be connected to any custom designed lighting fixtures. Controller designed by TBT can control multiple such units to provide any desirable color to suit your atmospheric control needs. Same light source can out put the usual warm white or cool white for general lighting too.
A. Dynamic Lighting refers to the ability to control your environmental lighting to either follow the daily natural light pattern of the sun, or to set it in a color temperature and brightness level that will enhance your working ability or be compatible with your mood. The sun and moon, provides the rhythm of light between day and night, which affect our bodies and have a decisive influence on our moods, emotions, capabilities and motivations. Human being has receptors to sense the slightest change of its outside lighting environment. It also has receptors inside our body to govern the secretion of Cortisol and Melatonin hormones based on the stimulation it receives from these various lighting levels. Cortisol stimulates and activates the human body and keeps it awake and active; Melatonin facilitates relaxation and improves our well-being. The morning sun light stimulates the Cotisol level and makes us awake and active; The afternoon sun light stimulates the Melatonin level and makes us sleepy and relaxed. General speaking, the Cold Light ( >5500K) is very closed to the natural sun light. It gives you a very bright and energetic feeling that will help your concentration. It is most suitable for office lighting; The Cold White Light (3500K ~ 5500K) is much gentler than the Cold Light. It gives you a happy and content feeling and is most suitable for commercial lighting; The Warm White Light (<3500K) is very similar to incandescent light. It gives you a warm and comfortable feeling and is most suitable for the relaxing home environment. Our sun, through its daily routine, generates a fixed pattern that consists of Cold Light, Cold White Light and Warm White Light (various color temperatures) to provide various stimulants to us through out the day. However sun does not always shine; We cannot always be under the sun either. Thus it is very important and much desirable for us human being to have a light source that will response to our finger tip and provide us the healthiest lighting environment to suit our body's need. Dynamic Lighting is aiming to provide such a solution via various luminaries to bring in the various natural daylight spectrums indoor and under our control . TBT's CCFLTM light source is most suitable for providing Dynamic Lighting effects. This light source can be dimmed linearly to a very low level. It is very easy to use two light sources with different color temperatures to generate a smooth transition of various color temperatures from 6400K ~ 2700K. Also, once the color temperature is fixed, its brightness level can be adjusted back and forth within the same selected color temperature. TBT has introduced a Desk lamp and Floor lamp that can provide such Dynamic Lighting effect brilliantly. Through TBT's lighting fixtures, Dynamic Lighting effect will be introduced into residential environment.
Q. Are there any products that can provide Dynamic Lighting Effect From TBT? A . Yes. TBT's mission is to use its proprietary CCFLTM technology to bring in the healthiest lighting environment through Dynamic Lighting into our homes. There will be lots of products coming out from TBT that will have the ability to provide Dynamic Lighting Effect for residential markets first, and then the commercial markets. TBT is committed to use both custom make lighting fixtures and general purpose light bulbs with Dynamic Lighting Effects to provide an easy solution for home owners and enable everyone to enjoy the healthiest lighting environment at their homes. First, there will be luminaries consists of desk lamps, floor lamps, table lamps. These luminaries have the capability of Dynamic Lighting. Once it is plugged in, you can have the control of Dynamic Lighting Effect at your finger tips. Secondly, TBT will introduce screw based light bulbs that will have Dynamic Lighting capability and control. It can be plugged-in your favorable table lamps, floor lamps, ceiling lamps and turn them into lighting fixtures with Dynamic Lighting Effect. For office lighting, there will be intelligent light boxes that will either automatically adjust the color temperature to provide a pattern that follows the natural light of the sun. Or you can change it through remote control. Sensors will also provide automatic dimming to light source for some functional rooms. For commercial lighting, there will be specially designed luminaries and control systems. Multiple luminaries with Dynamic Lighting Effects can be controlled through single controller with intelligence.
